ALC Panel Philippines: Lightweight Wall Panels for Faster, Lighter Builds

vPanel is a reinforced lightweight concrete wall panel for factories, warehouses, condominiums, hotels and commercial buildings in the Philippines. One panel covers the area of many hollow blocks, so walls go up faster, weigh less and need only a skim coat to finish.

Manufactured by Vodapruf in Johor, Malaysia, and used on projects across Malaysia and Singapore. Send your wall schedule and our team will tell you whether panel is the right wall for your Philippine site, and what it costs per square metre delivered.

Quick answer

An ALC panel is a steel-reinforced lightweight concrete wall panel, installed as a complete wall section rather than laid unit by unit. A 100 mm vPanel weighs about 48 kg per m², carries a 4-hour fire rating, and one crew can install roughly 25–30 m² a day.

Built for Philippine conditions

Why project teams in the Philippines are switching to wall panels

Most Philippine buildings are concrete frames with hollow-block infill. Panels change three things on that kind of project: the weight the frame carries, the labour the wall needs, and the heat the wall lets in.

01

Less dead load in a seismic country

Infill walls carry nothing but themselves, yet they add to the mass a frame is designed against during an earthquake.

  • About 48 kg/m² for a 100 mm vPanel wall
  • Lighter walls can reduce load on beams, columns and foundations
  • Your structural engineer confirms the design benefit
02

Fewer masons, shorter programme

Skilled masonry labour is often the bottleneck. Panel work moves hours from laying and plastering to placing and jointing.

  • 25–30 m² per crew per day
  • No wet plaster coat: skim coat only
  • Up to 8× faster than conventional masonry
03

Cooler rooms, lower cooling cost

Hollow-block walls absorb heat in the afternoon and release it indoors at night. vPanel slows that transfer.

  • Thermal conductivity 0.1375 W/m·K
  • Enclosed-cell structure with LIGHTHERM aggregate
  • Low water absorption for typhoon-season rain

Where vPanel is specified

Projects that suit ALC panels

01

Factories and warehouses

Tall, long and repetitive envelope and partition walls, exactly where panel economics work.

  • Fewer joints across large elevations
  • Fire compartment walls
02

Condominiums and hotels

Unit party walls and corridor walls that repeat floor after floor.

  • Faster wall cycle per floor
  • Up to 45 STC between units
03

Data centres and commercial fit-out

Rated walls where schedule and site cleanliness both matter.

  • 4-hour fire rating
  • Dry, clean installation

Installation

Two installation options, two fixing methods

vPanel can be installed horizontally or vertically. Horizontal installation lowers the risk of hairline cracks and water seepage at joints and uses leftover lengths at the soffit. Vertical installation needs less cutting on site.

  • vNAIL system: a standardised full-system installation with clear specification and warranty responsibility.
  • Reinforcement-bar method: a cost-effective method with Professional Engineer endorsed detailing.
  • Method statement and detail drawings supplied, with supervision support for crews installing panels for the first time.

An honest list

When an ALC panel is the wrong choice

  • The site cannot take a delivery truck. Panels arrive long. If only a small vehicle can reach the site, blocks are more practical.
  • The layout is heavily cut up. Many short walls, offsets and openings remove the panel advantage.
  • It is a small single-storey house. Without lifting equipment or repetition, blocks are usually simpler.
  • The crew has never installed panels and there is no time for supervision. Panels are fast in trained hands; plan support for the first project.

Frequently asked questions

ALC panel Philippines FAQs

What is an ALC panel?

An ALC panel is a reinforced lightweight concrete wall panel made in the factory and installed as a large wall section instead of being laid block by block. It is used mainly for non-load-bearing internal and external walls inside a concrete or steel frame.

Is an ALC panel the same as an AAC wall panel?

They belong to the same lightweight-concrete family and are often searched as the same thing. Conventional AAC panels are cured in a high-pressure autoclave. Vodapruf vPanel is made with LIGHTHERM aggregate and is naturally cured for 7 days, giving an enclosed-cell structure with low water absorption. Compare the declared test data for any panel you are considering.

How much does an ALC panel cost in the Philippines?

Panels are quoted per square metre of wall, by thickness, delivered to site. The figure depends on wall area, thickness, panel length, installation method, accessories and delivery location. Send your wall schedule and we will return a per-m² quotation that states exactly what is included.

What fire rating does vPanel have?

The 100 mm vPanel has a 4-hour fire rating tested to BS 476 Part 22, and a non-combustibility test to BS 476 Part 4. Test reports are available on request for your consultant.

Can ALC panels be used for external walls in the Philippines?

Yes. vPanel is suitable for external walls and wet areas, provided the panel joints, frame junctions, openings and external finish are detailed correctly for wind-driven rain.

Can I hang cabinets, TVs or equipment on an ALC panel wall?

Yes. There are four fixing methods depending on the weight per hanging point. Tell us what will be mounted on the wall and we will recommend the fixing method.

Do you supply ALC panels to the Philippines?

We review Philippine projects case by case. After seeing the wall schedule and site location, we confirm whether vPanel suits the project, the delivered price per m², the shipping route and the lead time before you commit.
