Philippines wall-system buyer's guide

AAC Block Philippines: Price per m², Sizes & When a Panel Makes More Sense

Most AAC block prices in the Philippines are quoted per piece. But a wall is paid for per square metre. This guide shows how to convert any AAC block quotation into a fair price per m², how it compares with CHB, and when a lightweight wall panel is the better choice.

Vodapruf manufactures vPanel lightweight wall panels, not AAC blocks. We wrote this guide so you can compare every wall option on the same basis before you buy.

Quick answer

AAC blocks in the Philippines are usually 600 × 200 mm on the face, so a square metre of wall takes about 8.33 blocks. Multiply the per-piece price by 8.33, then add adhesive, labour, skim coat and delivery to get the real cost per m². Compare that number, never the price of one block.

Start with the specification

AAC block sizes commonly listed in the Philippines

Thickness should come from the wall design: internal partition, external wall, fire or acoustic requirement.

How to read AAC block prices: per piece vs per m²

Comparing ₱20-something per CHB with ₱150-something per AAC block makes AAC look many times more expensive. The two blocks cover different wall areas, so the comparison is meaningless until both are converted to price per square metre.

Material cost per m² = price per block × 8.33

The ₱200 figure is an example to show the method, not a quotation. Public per-piece listings checked in October 2026 ranged from about ₱117 (100 mm) to about ₱467 (250 mm) depending on thickness and grade.

How to choose

Which wall system for which project?

01

Choose CHB when

Material cost is the deciding factor and there is no fixed completion date.

  • Provincial budget houses
  • Very small or irregular walls
  • Any local mason can build it
02

Choose AAC block when

You want cooler, lighter walls but the layout is detailed, with many openings and short returns.

  • Mid-range and premium homes
  • Manual handling only
  • Supply available near the site
03

Consider a panel when

Walls are long, repeated and on the critical path of the programme.

  • Factories, warehouses, data centres
  • Condo and hotel party walls
  • Labour shortage on site

The option most buyers are never quoted

vPanel: the same lightweight wall, in fewer pieces

Instead of laying 8 AAC blocks or 12 hollow blocks per square metre, a reinforced lightweight panel covers the wall in large sections. Fewer pieces means fewer joints, less adhesive and less labour.

  • 3 m, 4 m and 6 m Standard Panels, or 1.5 m Short Panels at 100, 150 and 200 mm
  • 4-hour fire rating (BS 476-22) and up to 45 STC sound transmission
  • Skim coat ready: no plastering
  • Quoted per m², so it drops straight into the comparison above

Frequently asked questions

AAC block Philippines FAQs

How many AAC blocks are in 1 square metre?

A standard AAC block has a 600 × 200 mm face, so one square metre of wall needs about 8.33 blocks, whatever the thickness. Add a small allowance for cutting and waste. For comparison, a 400 × 200 mm hollow block needs 12.5 pieces per square metre.

How much is an AAC block per piece in the Philippines?

Public per-piece listings checked in October 2026 ranged from about ₱117 for 100 mm to about ₱467 for 250 mm, depending on thickness and strength grade. Prices change with cement and freight costs, so always ask for a current quotation and convert it to price per m².

Is AAC block better than CHB?

AAC block is lighter, cooler and faster to finish than CHB, but costs more per square metre in material. CHB remains a sensible choice for budget houses. AAC earns its premium where programme, heat and dead weight matter.

What sizes do AAC blocks come in?

Most Philippine listings use a 600 × 200 mm face with thicknesses from 100 mm to 250 mm, often in several strength grades. Pick the thickness from the wall design, not from price.

Does Vodapruf sell AAC blocks?

No. Vodapruf manufactures vPanel, a reinforced lightweight concrete wall panel. This guide helps you compare blocks fairly and shows when a panel wall may suit your project better.

What are the disadvantages of AAC blocks?

Higher material cost than CHB, the need for thin-bed adhesive and proper fixings, and careful detailing against water at sills, parapets and splash zones. None is a deal-breaker if the wall is specified correctly.
